Warning: Correspondence from 'Hudson Beachcroft' or 'Hudson Beachcroft Solicitors'

13 August 2025

Emails and documents have been sent from ‘Hudson Beachcroft Solicitors’, purporting to be from a solicitor called ‘Hudson Beachcroft’.

What is the scam?

Emails and documents have been sent from 'Hudson Beachcroft' or 'Hudson Beachcroft Solicitors', falsely purporting to be from an authorised solicitor. The correspondence seen by the SRA related to a purported legal case relating to the (supposed) arrest of someone overseas.

The emails were sent from the email addresses 'enquire@hudsonbeachcroft.co.uk' and 'hudsonbeachcroftsolicitors52@gmail.com'. They also provided a contact number of +447883204701.  The sender of the emails also provided the recipient with a copy of a bogus practising certificate which misused the SRA ID number of a genuine solicitor (see below).

The SRA does not authorise or regulate an individual solicitor named 'Hudson Beachcroft' or a firm named 'Hudson Beachcroft Solicitors'.

Any business or transaction through the above contact details is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor named Ashlie Harwood, with the genuine SRA ID of 817307.

The genuine Ashlie Harwood has confirmed they have no connection with documents or matters referred to in the above alert.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
