Warning: Bogus Solicitors using the name Harper James Partners Limited

A company has been registered on Companies House as 'solicitors' under the name Harper James Partners Limited.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed that a company which falsely claims to be ‘solicitors’ has been registered on Companies House with the number 16848857.

The Company was incorporated on 11 November 2025 under the name of Harper James Partners Limited with the registered office address as Barratt House, Kingsthorpe Road, Northampton, England, NN2 6EZ and the sole director named as Paul Walding.

Any business or transaction with or through Paul Walding or Harper James Partners Limited is not undertaken by an individual or firm of solicitors authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Harper James Limited (SRA Number 612099), and Company registration 07761967, based at 5th Floor Cavendish House 39-41 Waterloo Street Birmingham B2 5PP The genuine firm uses the domain @harperjames.co.uk.

Harper James Limited have confirmed they do not have any connection to Paul Walding or Harper James Partners Limited.

What should I do?
